Hi Maya and Connor, I have loved listening to the pod & learning so much. I’m going to miss this pod a lot. You make conservation fantastic and accessible to watch & listen. I’ve been watching the recent Alveus mini docs on different wildlife conservation efforts, so I thought something might be of interest for a future vid, collab or visit to see some of the amazing international conservation efforts! So, I used to volunteer in Bolivia for an NGO named Inti Wara Yassi or more commonly known as “C.I.W.Y”. C.I.W.Y is an NGO wildlife organization that focuses on rescuing illegally trafficked animals. The place I volunteered was Parque Ambue Ari and it is just outside Santa Cruz city in Bolivia. C.I.W.Y specialises their conservation efforts with mostly mega fauna like rescued big cats, tapirs, sun bears, but also rescues other small to medium mammals & birds and gives them a really enriching environment and the best life possibly outside of the wild. Most of the animals can’t be released as they were taken from their mothers as babies (usually shot due to livestock protection, human encroachment or animal trafficking). But, they are actually doing their first rehab & release of a Jaguar that was orphaned & trafficked for the pet trade. Anyways, I believe CIWY might be a conservation effort that would be super interesting for the both of you & I hope you can check it out and visit it one day! Also Jane Goodall was a long time patron of their conservation efforts & stayed there in the 2000s and in 2021. The founder is Nena Baltazar who is lovely and really passionate for conservation like you guys. Thanks again for a great podcast, can’t wait to see the future for Alveus and conservation. In the end, I was already worrying (and I still do) about your workload and stress, since you both definitely do not have a healthy work-life balance :D Thanks for all the episodes and edutainment!
