If I heard “spinner dolphins,” I would just assume they were named after a person, but they actually spin like crazy. Maybe “spin dolphins” would have been a better name to get people curious. Present participle could work bc we have “Brazilian wandering spiders,” but “spinning dolphins” doesn’t really sound like a species
