2024-07-21 04:59:38 +0000 UTCThis is a month late but I'm glad Maya pointed out the ridiculousness of state birds. There are 32 states that do not have a unique bird. THIRTY TWO. 7 of which are Northern Cardinals. Something needs to be done.

2024-06-20 19:48:26 +0000 UTCLeprosy is a bacteria 🦠 we just treat it with long term antibiotics and steroids it’s why it’s super sad we made a lot of leprosy colonies based a lot on racial and colonization inequality back in the day because even after we discovered the treatment we didn’t offer it to everyone equally. In Hawaii non natives would receive treatment like normal and native Hawaiians would be shipped to the leper colony to Kalaupapa on Molokai. We’ve used a variety of drugs but promine being the most effective in the 40s in treating leprosy but this law stayed in place till 69. So yeah humans are lame for leprosy but in ‘dillos are super cool 😎 in fact that’s why they have the leprosy 😅

2024-06-02 11:13:09 +0000 UTCI have a suggestion of drunkest animal: Kererū. Chonky boys who like to sit on the thinnest branches, had a drunk one in my backyard a while back and my cats were too confused by the drunk chonker to even stalk
