Okay, Trish, you said you were playing a Thri-kreen?
Trish
Yep, that’s right. The insectoid humanoids from the Spelljammer sourcebook.
MMS
That’s pretty sick, actually. What class?
Trish
I went back and forth between Druid, Bard, Artificer, even considered being a Swarmkeeper Ranger, but I settled on Oath of the Crown Paladin.
MMS
That’s a hell of a range. What on Earth is the character concept?
Trish
It’s really not that complicated. See, my guy was raised in a small, insular society without much contact with the wider world.
MMS
Okay…
Trish
He grew up idolising explorers who went out hunting resources for the homeland. He always wanted to join them, to, like, explore the wider world, but he was too small and weak.
MMS
Shame.
Trish
Yeah. But one day, he managed to sneak out, only to get caught in a storm — with his life being saved by a human who took pity on him.
MMS
And now he’s, like, indebted to humanity or something?
Trish
Oh, no, quite the opposite. See, he found out that humans have been enslaving and stealing from his people from quite some time.
