Huh. Yeah, I’m not getting it. Go over it one more time?
Trish
No problem. So, I’m playing a warforged monk.
MMS
Right. And you had this big convoluted backstory for him?
Trish
I’ve given him the Mobile feat and Athlete background. Basically, his lifelong goal is to, like, achieve victory in this big athletic competition, right?
MMS
Sure.
Trish
But in the most recent event, the final match was a draw between him and two other rivals, so now there’s a final challenge where the three have to go toe-to-toe.
MMS
Alright, kinda a tournament arc thing going on, I get it.
Trish
Exactly. Problem is, en route to this championship game, his caravan was beset by bandits, and he wound up stranded in this village in the middle of nowhere.
MMS
Kind of a bummer for the tournament.
Trish
Right, but he’s hoping he can work off his sentence in time for him to still compete.
MMS
I gotta say, I’m still not completely clear on what you’re d… wait, sentence?
Trish
Oh, yeah, he got in trouble with the local guards while in the village. That’s where he met Tony’s character, in the town jail.
Tony
I’m playing an Artificer with the Guild Artisan background!
