For the Katana vs Miaodo video, I don't recognize this particular movie, but I suspect that part of the reason for the length of the fight and some of the weirdness might be because this is supposed to be a non-lethal duel, which seems to happen in these kinds of movies. So they're fighting to first blood or something, or the badguy is using a friendly duel as a pretext to kill off the hero or something like that. I see the panel of judges and elevated ring as evidence of this, and the final slap to the face is enough to convince the judges that he was skilled enough to have killed the other guy, but doesn't want to. Also, a lot of the heros in these sorts of movies are bat-man like, they face villains who use lethal force, but they try not to use lethal force themselves (although unlike bat-man, it's usually more of a psychological struggle for them, and they do kill if the villain is too heinous). Though, in this context, why do they even use a sword? A staff or club should be able to defend themselves just as well. It could be that they want the option to kill, just in case, or they carry a lethal weapon to scare people off, but try not to actually use lethal force. Of course, a staff is still plenty able to deal a lethal blow. I bring this up not as criticism, but I think you'll find some fun talking points.

I really liked "How to use a Two-Handed Axe". I think that's definitely I asked for, so cool to see it. Since you ask what else would we like to see, I'd be interested to see something like that but with hammers, maces or clubs. As an animator, I'm always struggling to think of things to do with these weapons other than just a big swing. I've seen detailed explanations of the pole-axe or pole-hammer with all its various points of attack, but not for the simpler one handed blunt weapons.
