The next music scene...

I'm torn between two ideas.

1. A hand animated scene synced to a single song, one and done. Like "How Would You Like It" from Aurora.

2. A never-ending loop of 3 songs. The songs will change and loop perfectly, allowing the action to stay in sync when changing songs.

Pros and Cons of Option 1:

PRO: Hand animated scenes allow me to make more interactive, immersive, movements and interactions between the character and the player. For example, the moment from "Aurora: How Would You Like It" when Aurora leans in towards you and cites the lyrics to you - the way she leans back afterwards, etc.

CON: But this mean the scene also ends and could be relatively short depending on the song I use.

Pros and Cons of Option 2:

PRO:A never-ending loop means that the action doesn't ever have to end, you can just sit back and enjoy the show until... well, until you've enjoyed the show. The fact the songs loop means I can just create a collection of random animations, similar to the way the original scenes work (she will pick random animations to keep things different and fresh).

CON: This means that at some point, you're going to have seen everything there is to see, and it will probably get old before long.

I'll give this over to you guys, which would you prefer?

Comments

I'd rather commit to one or the other, but I have some plans to make a "choose your own music" endless loop feature for The Collection when I get around to working on that. You'd be able to use your own songs and sync the animations to them, as long as you know the bpm of them.

Why not a little of both? :3
