Colt’s journal doesn’t say that HE killed the Phoenix, it said that “the gun” killed it. So Colt didn’t try to take credit. Remember, he didn’t meet Dean, he wasn’t there when the showdown occurred and didn’t know exactly who killed the Phoenix. One of my favorite easter eggs is in this episode. The bartender’s last name is Elkins. My head-cannon is that he picked up the Colt and passed it down in his family until it got to Daniel Elkins who we know had it from at least the late 70s when Dean stole it to try and kill Yellow Eyes. And of course he had it in 2005 when the vamps killed him and took the gun. I’m glad you enjoyed this one. It’s always been one I love too. I enjoyed your reaction very much. P.S. When Bobby said that he only watched ‘Deep Space Nine’ - they put that line in because Jim Beaver’s late wife was on DS9.

2020-08-28 01:48:51 +0000 UTCThis one is another classic for rewatching. Everything in the old west looks good without being too over the top. Small town, simple cloths. I really do love the look of the old style revolvers from this period. But just to answer a couple of questions you had. Yes, Jared will be starring in the new Walker series in January. And it's been announced that Jensen has been cast as a new hero on The Boys. So everyone will be seeing more of them. I'd be shocked if Jensen didn't also get at least one guest star role on Walker at some point. Also, regarding sending or taking The Colt forward in time, you need to remember movie time travel rules. It would screw up the timeline. The gun would not pass to Daniel Elkins who lost it to the vampires in season 1. Therefore Sam and Dean would never get it at the end of that season. It wouldn't be available to open the Devil's Gate at the end of season 2 and wouldn't be on hand for Dean to shoot Yellow-Eyes in the finale. Then there was the attempt in season 5 to use The Colt on Lucifer that resulted in the deaths of Ellen and Jo. Lots of loose strands get pulled on if the gun disappears for that long. Looking forward to the rest of the season. Like all the others it finishes really strong.
