Supernatural Season 5 Episode 13 UN-CUT REACTION!

Comments

@Vel Why would I blame the writers ? The goal of a TV show is to make us feel for the characters, in that case sometimes we are mad at our heroes sometimes not, sometimes we understand them sometimes not. It's the goal of a reaction, we don't react to the writers but to the characters choices bc we are not watching the writers, we are watching Sam and Dean.

From what Lucifer mentioned in an earlier season, he has tons of potential vessels but it seems like only Sam was considered 'ideal' (with the demon blood level up sweetening the deal). When Lucifer took Nick, though, he was burning Nick out as a vessel really fast (yeah, writers, whatever happened to that?!), so imo, Nick wasn't even particularly a good choice, he just was *a* choice.

I just downloaded a boost volume app to my phone haha

Same same. I’ve had to sync it up from my TV, which is fine if I’m home, but impossible to hear if I’m traveling.

The grandpa was, at the time possessed by the yellow I demon. yes it's the same actress playing the role of the mother. And no deen and her never spoke after he talked to the father. The next time Dean saw his mother she was making the deal with the demon. Odd that they only mentioned the death of the father not of the mother. When John mentions that Mary's father died of a heart attack. With no mention of how her mother died

I have had the personal headcanon for quite some time that Lucifer's bloodline was intentionally slaughtered by the angels. Either on God's orders or as matter of preemptive strike in prep for the destined final battle. Of course, that being said, they couldn't possibly kill every human with a drop of his lineage's age-old blood. Nick must have some distant relation to Lucifer's massacred lineage. Keep in mind Michael's line is different from Raphael's,. I believe the reason it could /only/ be Sam whereas Michael had "many true vessels" due to the blood is that Sam was essentially mutated to suit him. Powerful enough to hold Michael, but twisted through Azazel's ritual/demon blood to suit him. Sam was crafted into the perfect vessel. I don't think Nick has to be related to Sam and certainly not Dean because they are not natural-born to hold him properly.

Same. I can hear Ky just fine, but not the show.

Vel

NO SPOILERS, JUST QUESTIONS:Hmm, I never thought about it before but if Michael can use any vessel in Dean’s bloodline, I’m assuming it’s the same for Lucifer. Does that mean the Nick (the guy Lucifer is currently possessing) is somehow related to Sam and Dean? Anyways, great reaction to a great episode! #TeamFreeWill

That makes sense in a natural world but not in the SPN world where it's either not have another baby or bring on the apocalypse. At least she and John could have decided together against risking another child, etc. The way they framed her decision and even the boys' commentary on never being born made it seem as though they were a package deal. Ain't too late to make sure Sam's never born. Dean's existence is null without Sam to house Lucifer. Guess in the end they couldn't reverse it anyway.

Rue Surnameunimportant

Volume very quiet I dunno if other ppl have the issue

This is absolutely one of those top tier episodes. I love how the theme of destiny vs free will is brought into focus once again. From Michael and Lucifer's point of view it's an absolute certainty that Sam and Dean will say yes. This is the bedtime story they heard from God when mankind first arose. This is what Gabriel was talking about in Changing Channels. One ex blood junkie, one high school dropout with six bucks to his name, and mr. comatose over there against The Plan.

She couldn't leave John and walk away (in her mind) now that she was pregnant. The 70's weren't as bad as the 50's, but they still weren't that great. Women didn't just bail like that.

Vel

Blame the writers, then. They're the ones that created him as a plot device.

Vel

Agree 💯 when it comes to how they treat Cas. It's always bothered me how he's treated him 💔

Dorothy

You know, I never understood when they all think it's "too late" since she is pregnant with Dean when /Dean/ is not relevant in this. Sam is the one who isn't supposed to be born, so they could have still pulled it off-- well, were it not for what happened later.

Rue Surnameunimportant

Yes it was the same actress. Great reaction to a great episode!

Brenda Lewis

Yes that was the same actress and actor you played the last time John and Mary. I really liked this episode, bc we see that Michael doesn't try to force Dean like Zachariah did, he just tell him what he think it's gonna happen, his truth. This scene was just calme, peaceful. I'm glad Anna died, I really can't with her character. I'm so sad for Castiel, he's always sacrifice himself for the boys in any ways and he never get a break, no one ask him what he wants and needs. I don't think it wasn't a bad idea to let Dean say Yes to Micheal, so he has his sword and he can beat Lucifer in this falling vessel. Well, good episode for me, really nice to see John and Mary again, they have so much chemistry. Can't wait for the next.
