⚓️🔗⚠️ Critical Maintenance: Painting our anchor chain markings!!

When anchoring it is imperative to know how much chain you have let out. 🔗
If you use a scope of 5 to 1 you will usually be safe from dragging your anchor. You can let out more chain if the weather is adverse , to be safe.🌊 Example: If the depth is 10 meters, then 50 meters of chain is more than sufficient. It can be difficult to know how much chain you have let out, so marking the chain at 10 meter intervals with high vis paint helps so much especially at night, so when Amy is up forward and I'm shouting at her "HOW MUCH CHAIN IS OUT " She can see clearly by the markings . She will direct me using 1 finger for 10 meters 2 fingers for 20 meters and so on.. 👆✌️👌👋

That's a good idea Bob. But we just paint an extra link each 10 meters and we don't have too many colors. I like your way of thinking 🤔
