I thought since I was doing a large piece that included both these swords that they both needed to have some new details added to them.

First, I've updated Blackfyre, because I realize the last time I drew it, the blade was too short (mostly for the composition of the drawing it was featured in) but I do think that it was in need of some work. I've added some small details but other than it's length it is not entirely changed.

AND DARK SISTER. I haven't done any concepts for her yet. I'm really happy I had the opportunity to finally get a good look for her down. I had someone question the way I drew Dark Sister in the past so I wanted to clear that up! My main inspiration for Dark Sister has always been the Elvish sword Orcrist from the Hobbit movies, because it's one of my favorite sword designs of all time. I actually really love many of the sword designs for LOTR and the Hobbit, but I especially love the curvaceous shape of many of the Elven blades seen in the movies. It is highly stylized but I thought the curved blade suited many of the people who wielded Dark Sister: Daemon, Bloodraven, and Visenya most of all.

I have wanted to do two separate series based around these blades of each of their wielders so maybe someday I'll get around to that!

Now that you said it, your version of Dark Sister actually does look a lot like Orcrist!

Dark Sister looks perfect.

Very cool looking- I especially love the look of dark sister!

A well-made point, but it's worth considering that these *are* magic swords that can cut through practically anything. So I think there's a bit of leeway regarding the shape of this sword and how it might affect its function, in this case.

Oh wow. These look very nice indeed especially when Maegor is holding them on the post down below. Very badass. My opinion for Dark Sister though, anyone who knows the sword can say that it's a longsword for a woman, but my own wisdom to you is that for that style of blade that you've chosen is unfavorable for a female to use due to it being a chopping weapon more than thrusting and stabbing. Choppers require a great deal of strength in the swing. I've swung a sword at a deer carcass and even for me it was tough than I thought it would be. If you want to keep that type of design though, go for it cuz it's your weapon but I also would recommend that if it's a woman's sword then put a slight curve in it because that helps improve the cut of the chop to be more smooth.
