The King Who Bore the Sword

"Daeron was spindly and round of shoulder, with a little belly that wobbled when he walked. Daemon stood straight and proud, and his stomach was flat and hard as an oaken shield. And he could fight. With axe or lance or flail, he was as good as any knight I ever saw, but with the sword he was the Warrior himself. When Prince Daemon had Blackfyre in his hand, there was not a man to equal him..."

Daemon I Blackfyre, the Black Dragon, the King Who Bore the Sword

(Wiki said Daemon wore armor of red and black plate, but I thought that making a majority of the armor red would be very striking)

The sword seems a bit short, but the art is good.:) All hail Daemon Blackfyre, grandson of Aegon Dragonbane, son of rightful Queen Daena Targaryen!:D

Beautiful Naomi! I love the bold colours and the sword looks amazing. I especially like the way the red stone stands out in the hilt

Hrm, perhaps I was over-hasty with what I said about the sword's pommel, actually seeing it with Daemon it doesn't look too ostentatious at all. Though, that being said, I can't shake the impression that the sword looks like it's too short. Does anyone else see that, or am I just crazy? Like, based on the length of the handle and in comparison to Daemon, it looks as though its blade should be about another third longer again, so that the point would be off-screen entirely (and, I guess, resting on the hypothetical 'ground'). Daemon himself looks great, as usual for you, every inch the borderline mythological figure that he is in the series proper. His dimensions of arm and shoulder, plus the way he holds Blackfyre, give the impression that he's used to using the blade in a fight and used to winning his fights, so you've got that aspect of him down pat also, nicely done. Whilst I wouldn't have gone for the majority of the plate being such a strong red myself, I must admit that it is indeed very eye-catching (no wonder Bloodraven was able to pick him out on the Redgrass field) and very striking as you say-simply by his colours Daemon seems to be declaring his opposition to the rightful Targaryens. Good job. Hopefully this 5am wall of text will make some sense in the light of day, and be some use to you.
