I work in the APS (data entry) and we had an elderly staff member on our team that fucked up her work so badly she put us months behind our quotas because it took 3 other staff (including myself) to fix all of her mistakes. I saw our manager crying coming out of a meeting with the higher ups! This staff member also had interpersonal issues with many other staff (dementia?). Shes a contractor and could’ve been fired on the spot at any point, but management decided to let her stay another 4 months until the end of her contract and then just didn’t renew her. Bananas!
