Here in NJ we incinerate our sewage sludge after it is dewatered, at least at the ww plant I work at. Also, liquid sludge isnt landfilled, its only after its been dewatered.

2023-08-12 17:51:46 +0000 UTCI looked into this a while ago because I was similarly incredulous that sewage experts were just talking about “sludge” all the time, and as far as I can tell, that is actually the technical term for it!
