Animations planning and priorities poll
Added 2022-06-07 09:21:13 +0000 UTCWe're sharing some details today about the process of creating the animations, and opening the first poll regarding some priorities in that process.
Guidelines
In order to make the workflow as efficient as possible, we have a few guidelines:
* Each base illustration must be modularized: any given character base illustration will be broken into different body parts, so that these might be replaced when required, thus allowing to remove or add a dick asset depending on the body of the character, replace the head of one character for that of another if they share a body similar or enough, or replace the asset of free arms for a potential asset of bound arms if we get to the point of actually animating equipment.
* Use the bare minimum of base illustrations to generate as many animations as possible. It isn't possible to edit the base illustration of a [mount from behind-penetrate pussy] to easily generate a [make kneel-get cunnilingus], but it is possible to make minor edits to the first illustration to turn it into [mount from behind-penetrate ass].
* Re-use the meshes of any given animation for as many characters or body parts as possible. It isn't possible to directly translate the movement of Claw's hair to Valtan's, but the deformations applied to their arms, legs and torso should be the same.
These are guidelines directed to reutilize as much work as possible, in order to reach a compromise between maintaining the level of quality of the conceptual animation for any potential dynamic position/continued action while aiming for a reasonable timeline, and also leave some efforts to make other art assets.
In order to make a gradual implementation of the animations as they get finished, each animation set will first be made for a generic, faceless gray character, with feminine and masculine variations, used by default by all characters. As the equivalent animation for any given character gets finished and added to the game, this gray mannequin will be replaced by the actual model for that particular character.
Poll: Which player avatar should be animated first?
In this line, a component of the order in which each character receives their animations will be decided by technical/utilitarian reasons, but we will be asking for the community feedback to make the decisions that answer to personal preferences.
The first trio of characters to be animated will be the player avatar characters, as they A) will be visible in almost all scenes, and B) share a lot of assets that may be recycled for each other. They will be followed by Nash and Claw, which can also recycle a lot of the assets for the previous animations, then followed by the rest of the Candidates.
In today's poll, you will be deciding on the order in which each of the player avatar receive their animations.
Feedback on transformed male avatars
Additionally, Chili Cherry wants your feedback on a sketch she's just finished for one of the transformed male avatars. She has just posted in #reviews-and-feedback on the Unholy Arts Discord server, so if you have the time please pay a visit to share your opinion with her.
