Thanks so much for your support and here's a REALLY odd follow-up to this quote -- get out your Theramins, folks! It's hard not to wonder about mystical stuff when things like this happen: Yesterday, there was a post on my Facebook page from a friend of a friend -- someone I interact with only on Facebook and probably about once a year, if that. It wasn't even a current post -- it was one of those "look what Hindey shared on Facebook five years ago" things. And guess what it was? The Maya Angelou quote above! Eerie or what? As far as I know there's no connection between you and Hindy and me -- she's 2,000 miles away in one direction and you're, what, 2,000 miles away in the other direction. Yet here's all this synchronicity piling up on my timeline. (And FIVE YEARS AGO to boot?!) Who says you aren't magic? Case in point, I'm not exactly sure what you said or did to make me like you as much as I do. But I can certainly remember why I hated Roger Sterner in 7th grade -- he was sitting off-stage, squirting me with a squirt gun while we were supposed to be paying attention to Mr. Zinnaman (it was, after all, a Very Important Production of Pirates of Penzance). I got sent to the Principal's office and Roger was nowhere to be found. I think people generally have a lot more difficulty remembering the positive things that happen in their lives than the negatives. But I applaud Ms. Angelou's supposed intent -- reminding people to make others feel better about themselves is always a plus!
