A Blizzard Tale: Parents

You've probably read Blizzard(and if you haven't... you're in for a treat: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vnq7aPV2dobXdOPZRK5c90rrCCvg-fCK?usp=sharing).I had a lot of backstory worked out for Gene, Max, Sam, and Alex -- more than made it into the annotations, even. (https://docs.google.com/document/d/12iV8TDZWF6A9XNIDx8RO0DvrH7PSs7ePofFqPyBe3WE/edit?usp=sharing) While DS (my editor) and I were working on the rewrite, though, he started asking me questions about their pasts that I'd never considered.

And then questions about their futures.

And then he started telling me what the answers were.

And he was usually right.

Then one day he sent me some text files. One was called "Carrots", the other was called "Husks". I read them, and realized that they were further stories about my characters.

It's an amazing feeling to realize that someone's written fanfic about your work.

Over the months that followed, he wrote several more stories set in what for want of a better term I'll call the "Blizzardverse", and suggested that I make them available as Patreon-only bonuses.

I've decided that since my editor wrote these stories, and showed them to me while they were works in progress, and got my approval for everything... they're canon. This is what happens to Max, Sam, Alex, and Gene after the end of chapter 28.

Starting the very next morning, in fact.

Yeah, everything he wrote was in dialogue format. And yes, you nailed exactly where it landed.

Are all the stories DS wrote in dialogue format? Spin-offs are a great place to experiment with formatting so I hope to see more of this either way. I also like to think this shortly precedes the bit of conversation you wrote in the annotations of the girls telling Gene they're going to get him new clothes.
