(and how to actually make them count)
This is one of the most important videos I’ve ever made — because it answers a question almost every upcoming producer asks:
“How do I land collaborations with bigger artists when I’m still small?”
I’m going to walk you through the exact strategy I used to secure my biggest collabs to date — and no, it’s not about cold messaging 500 people or hoping someone magically discovers you. It’s about thinking like a pro before you even get the chance to work with one.
The harsh truth is: bigger producers don’t need your 8-bar loop or your idea for a collab. Those guys and even me are getting that kind of messages almost daily. What they do need, though, is someone who can make their life easier — and elevate a song with clarity, direction, and finished ideas.
That’s what I break down in this video.
If you want to work with someone above your level, you have to level the playing field — and one of the best ways to do that is to come in with a finished vocal and a rough song structure. That instantly signals three things:
You’re serious – not just another random message in their DMs.
You’ve already invested energy into the track – which shows commitment.
You’re giving them something to build on – not asking them to do all the heavy lifting.
This is how I’ve landed some of my most meaningful collabs!
🔥 Bonus Tip: When you finally land that collab — don’t waste it.
Make as much content as possible around the track to really push your project not just the song! If you don’t promote the song and your brand around it, you won’t see much long-term return.
