After so many years as a Turkish guest, Charles finally felt forced to break out, and come home. An audacious forced march and an emotional return followed, but was it too late to save Sweden's Empire? Not so, said Charles, and yet the sharks continued to circle, closing in on what remained of that Kingdom's glorious past.
