Ori — Steps Process (Gif)
Added 2018-12-18 17:55:48 +0000 UTCI've been trying to experiment more with color lately (one of the motives that I created the color posts recently). This painting was interesting because it was an exercise in using all hues from the color wheel in one piece, at least in a more expressive/painterly way than a realistic one.
About the process I started with a very rough color sketch, with few main colors as base. And from there I went adding detail and secondary colors, either directly with textured brushes or with layer effects like hue/overlay.
Because of the painterly style, this could have done in very few layers, but for experimentation sake I stacked layer by layer on top of each other, so the original file size ended very big (like 800mb @ 4000x3000 px). With similar works in the future I'll try to use layers more efficiently u_u.
