Not everything has to be constantly reinvented in order to avoid getting labeled as a hack. Though, it was cool in Spider-Man II when they flipped it by having Doc Ock on the ceiling instead.
Or maybe it is hack. I dunno anymore. Is this why the next Spider-Verse is getting delayed for so long? I know I don’t envy the minefield those writers must be dealing with. Not that I would turn it down if I was offered it. I just know the hubris would get the best of me.
