Hi my dear Patrons:
Sorry i have been off social media since Sunday and tbh havent even checked most of it. Something really really bad happened on Saturday night. I was editing a "Thank you for 500,000 views on Nageena" video to post on my facebook which is when i got a call from my brother who was over at his wife's parents for the weekend and had taken Rambo along. He told me that Rambo isnt able to walk and his left Hind leg suddenly is totally falling apart and that theyre rushing him to a hospital, he told me it looks as though it were paralyzed. I was shocked, terrified and left immediately to meet them at the hospital.
Poor Rambo looked so nervous and his hind led was just hanging.
The ER doctor said that it looks like either a blood clot or a nerve compression, gave him a shot and asked us to meet the senior doc tomorrow.
Next day ENTIRE DAY me, my brother and my sister in law were in the hospital. It was PAINFUL to see Rambo go through all the tests they made him do. (Blood tests, Chest xray, spine xray, Ct scan normal, Ct scan contrast). The senior doctor said it could have been a spinal shock and one of his lower vertebra must have taken some sort of an impact internally (thiS can even happen just sitting around) . Surprizing part is before this happend, he didnt get hurt at all he was just playing normally, went and sat down after it and then when he got up he could barely stand!
It was devastating to see Rambo go through sedation, then have him put through that CT Scan machine and alll of that, i couldnt stop crying to see my happy, totally active boy so unable to move. I cant tell you how incredibly low i am even writing this. We waited for the CT Scan
Reports and surprizingly all the findings in it did not point towards anything that lead to a nerve compression or that could have caused this.
We took him to another vet, who saw him and said his symptoms looks so much of the condition called "Schiff sherington" however its a spine related condition and if the reports and the other doc is clearing off spine issue then its very surprising. So even now WE DONT YET KNOW what caused this, so we are so confused how to treat him. He asked us to do more blood tests today. Last 2 days he has been going to this vet everyday Twice a day to get injections, drips etc as part of his immediate treatment, tomorrow is his last day on steroids.
I didnt sleep straight for 48hrs cause he would not sleep ok, he kept trying to move all the time the first night after this. Poor Rambo, probably was so shocked on why he isnt able to do his usual movements, he peed himself multiple times and i had to nurse that. But i swear staying up even for 48hrs straight didnt drain my energy off as much as to see him struggling and going through this. The way he at times looks at us, is heart breaking. Such an active, kind, super friendly and happy boy going through so much.
HAVE ANY OF YOU had this situation with your dogs ever?? Please let me know, im determined to fix him, we can't let this be. India, even New delhi isnt equipped with dog rehabs and facilities like US, europe and we're still waiting on finding out what he has, but pls share your experience or your friend's experience if any so i could get some leads on how to help my baby.
For 3 days everything has been on a halt, we are nursing him like a baby and he right now needs us for everything, his face has also slightly changed going through all the stress yet, he manages to look funny in the most simple situations.
(Cold towel to cool him off and relax him while at the vet)
Please Pray for Rambo and include him in your good wishes, i never write things like this for myself but for him, PLEASE SEND ALL YOUR GOOD ENERGIES his way he sooo needs it and doesnt deserve this.
