Pyretta is safe at my apartment, she’s 14 years old with stage 2 renal disease, and hyperthyroidism. I have been bringing her to the vet monthly. We are experiencing a big heat wave in NY and my studio doesn’t have reliable AC , she needs a little more care than what I’m used to doing.
In the past few months, she hasn’t been eating like she used to, it’s been a struggle to get her to eat all of her food, and she’s lost a lot of weight. Bringing her back to the apartment has actually helped her appetite, which is a good sign.
The other day, she had to be taken to the vet while I was in the city for voice therapy because she was constipated and dehydrated. Which doesn’t make sense since she’s been eating and drinking pretty good.
Pyretta’s health has been on my mind a lot, and it’s forcing me to have to adapt, I can’t control everything. And every once in a while I’m reminded that I’m constantly trying to control things I can’t. Unfortunately I can’t make pyretta young again, or free of her health issues. But I can do my best to keep her in a nice environment, with people that love her.
