dude this story freaked me out cuz I have a hat for the LA Chargers with a smiley face with lightning bolts for eyes exactly how you described were on your emote. I never made the connection, and I'm sure the designers that are making merch for the NFL didn't either, so I hope that's an encouragement that anyone can make that kind of mistake. Now I'm just sad because I really liked that hat being blissfully unaware :(

I appreciate Kel saying they keep themselves informed on all these types of things bc CLEARLY I need to be doing that more. The "client" is an actual friend of mine from high school. When I told him about this he immediately agreed we should take it down. We're just gonna let it die and not rework it since I originally did another version with diamond eyes. Also the video is removed from my page altogether so no dog whistles are plaguing #kelliotsaidso

Weird how design has become so social media focussed, yet so hard to actually experience work that resonates with you. I think these apps should be way more customisable as you say. Loved the tip about finding local shows, I'm not in Portland unfortunately but that's something I've been trying to do as well. Went to a Welsh creatives event in London recently which was great. I forgot to say that your podcast is actually very important in being somewhere where people can interact and keep up with modern and positive discourses around design, which is become much harder to find these days.
