Patreon update for 2022!

Hello, everyone! We hope 2022 has been treating you well so far.

This month we've decided to look over our current state of affairs, both in the front-end and what Patrons and visitors see, as well as our internal task organization methods, our capacity for fulfilling certain Patreon rewards, and our growth goals for the year. We'd like to share what we've been working on!

New team members!

One of our big resolutions for this year was to increase comic page output, to minimize the amount of hiatus time we had to face last year for a multitude of reasons. We recruited colorist Ariya (she/her) and background designer/painter Jerijune (he/they) to the team on a volunteer basis for the time being. We're hoping that our growth will keep moving along to the point that we can start paying them for their work, as any good project should strive to! We're making sure both crewmembers are not subject to overworking, and we will respect any boundaries they wish to keep relating to their roles in the team, whether they are volunteers or not.

An exciting new addition!

We'd like to welcome Brandon Collier (SaucyProcess, he/they) as our first VA, voicing Ackerley! A fellow non-bird nerd who's scientist by day and Hunicast/Hunistaff staff member by night, Brandon has experience in Broadway-style singing, voice-acting, and has a ton of content posted online, from funny meme videos to covers of famous songs! Updates to Goals

With the recent pledge growth and review of Patreon perks and crowdfunding methods, we've made changes to the Patreon's Goals, to account for Izzy's living expenses, upkeep for later expansions, and plans for paying our current volunteer crew. We appreciate all the help we've had in growing our pledge amount, as it has helped so much to guarantee Izzy's quality of life, and we hope you'll help us reach the updated Goals!

Updates to Tiers

Following our experience with last year's perks, we've prepared realistic plans for what we'd like to offer this year. Some perks got very fun updates, and others have received an overhaul in terms of how they're tracked and fulfilled! We've prepared a new Main Post that will be pinned soon after this post is uploaded so you can check current changes. All affected Patrons will also receive a Patreon DM with more details, as well as special links that can't be left in the Main Post!

Future Plans

New resolutions are in place! We'll be bringing back postcards to the respective Patron Tiers, preparing new fun perks for those in higher Tiers, and finding new ways to bring in a bigger budget while providing even more incentives to support the comic, like a merch store! Nothing has been set in stone just yet, but hey, gotta let everyone know so we can push for these plans faster and harder! 

So with this post, we have concluded the bulk of this year's update to our Patreon. Not everything will be set up right away (Discord updates need to be confirmed by Foxglove Comics staff, for example), but it won't take much longer than this week at most. We hope you enjoy the changes we've enacted, and please don't be shy - if there's anything that needs improving, let us know!
