Summer Update (hiatus, activities, rewards!)

Hey everyone!

It’s been a hot, long minute since our last big update post, so there’s plenty to get to! Make sure to read the entire post - there’s important news all around!

• Hiatus

Mothorial has been on hiatus since the beginning of June. I had planned to take that month off for my main animation gig, Far-Fetched, to gather savings as I usually do with jobs outside of my Patreon income. However, I hadn’t planned for quarantine anxiety and the amount of energy I had vs. the work I first intended to get done, and things piled up a tad.
Still, I kept going!...Until my PC decided to break down right at the beginning of July, and with it a lot of work assets (thankfully nothing Mothorial-related!). I had to move back to my iPad for the rest of the month, which meant a huge cut in my ability to work and a lot of my savings, despite my efforts to stay afloat through smaller commissions.
Thankfully, my PC came back in the first week of August, and I’ve been doing my best to get back to full-throttle - but after such a big hit in productivity through early Summer, I have a lot to catch up on regarding Mothorial, on top of still needing to finish my Far-Fetched assignments, so I’ve decided the hiatus will continue until September, no set date - hopefully we come back strong real soon!

• Streams

I’m sure many of you are thirsty for some sneak-peeks on the progress of the comic! I’m setting Sunday as my weekly Mothorial stream day, at around 5PM (WEST) / 12PM (Eastern) / 8AM (Pacific), for around 4-6 hours. I’ll be doing page and design work, Patron rewards, and general hangouts with Ari, when they’re available! We’ll be expanding to streaming on Twitch real soon, but for now, you can find us on Foxglove Comics’ Discord server. Head on over and sign up for notifications on streams if you haven’t! The server and non-Patron streams are available to everyone, so feel free to bring your friends to read all our fun comics!

• Patron rewards

I’ve had to halt Patron rewards for a while! Patron rewards will be done on the 3rd Sunday of each month (at the usual stream time), to allow for extra time to complete any leftover work until the end of said month.

Patron sketch rewards will be coming back officially in October - prepare your prompts! Artifact Apprentice Patrons will only get to request again in January, so make sure you’re ready!

All pending welcoming postcards will be sent out through September, so make sure your address here on Patreon is correct! Alternatively, DM me here if you prefer not to have your address listed on your Patron account.

For now...

All patrons, regardless of tier, will get a free sketch this month, to thank you for your patience during this unexpected break! They’ll be done in a Discord stream on the 29th, at the usual stream time (5PM (WEST) / 12PM (Eastern) / 8AM (Pacific)). If you know you’ll be available at a specific time and want to schedule your sketch, let me know in advance!

• Anyone in Tier Feyn ($2), Hewan ($5), Ava ($10) and Ackerley ($25) will get a simple sketch - no colour, no background, 1 character. Tier Artifact Apprentice ($50) and Artifact Bearer ($100) get a fully-coloured sketch, as per their usual reward style!

We have plans for a Mothorial anniversary event in October! We’ve wanted to give back to all Patrons and current readers, and what better way to do that than providing merch?

• For that, we’ll be doing a small fundraising drive to cover the costs of production of stickers and prints. We’ll be working on a few designs over the course of September, which the higher tier Patrons will be able to vote on, and we’ll use a stretch goal system to reveal them during the event itself! We hope you enjoy supporting the comic and getting yourself something nice!
• Our expected date for the event will be on the exact date of the anniversary, if everything allows - October 5th. We’ll announce the final date later on, so keep your eyes peeled!
