A small update (and important message)
Added 2020-09-19 13:00:53 +0000 UTCHowdy everyone!
Thank you to all the new Patrons who joined us after our Foxglove Comics merge! We're so happy to have you, and we appreciate your generosity. I've been wanting to write an update for a while regarding current progress on Patreon rewards and Mothorial pages.
If you don't know exactly what you have access to, don't worry - I've updated all the current tiers' Welcome Messages to include your tier's rewards, and where to find certain things. Check your Welcome Message by going here:

Onto updates:
We still have enough to keep us going until the end of the month, so you'll get new content to read every week of September, and the website will launch as planned on October 5th.
However, I haven't been able to draw new pages to keep it going just yet. I've been busy with a commissioned comic for Caytlin Vilbrandt's Tamberlane, which is currently keeping up my sum of savings! This was a huge blessing, so I'm doing my best to deliver it in time for her own deadline. I'll do my best to catch up on Mothorial pages real soon, once I can balance things out!
Regarding rewards:
- I'm gonna try and finish the Summer postcard design over the weekend so we can get it over with! I'll prepare the Autumn postcard over the rest of September so we can have it ready to order during the season.
- For the new Artifact Apprentice and Artifact Bearer Patrons - your rewards are a bit more complex, so I hope it's okay for them to be delayed until October. I want to make sure I deliver the best work I can, and we can time the quarterly sketch rewards properly by having them start on October either way. I'll send DMs with details about the special Welcome postcards so you can prep!
- We've reached the Goal for opening a Merch Store! We're super grateful to everyone for helping us reach that Goal. Sadly, we're not quite ready for that juuuuust yet. We thought we'd take longer to get to that stage, with enough content available to justify making merch and underestimated the costs of opening an online shop and manufacturing. So for now, we're postponing, and we hope you understand.
On a more serious, personal note:
I'm very glad you're all very excited to read Mothorial. It's been something we've been chipping at for a long while, with humble beginnings, and we'll continually try our best to stay humble. Make no mistake, your pledges mean a lot to us, especially now while not a lot of content is public. That being said, I'd like to say a few words of my own.
I've been dealing with a lot of family troubles these past few years of creating Mothorial, over not wanting to pursue my current college degree after I found my calling in animation, not having been taught basic life skills like getting a job (by their choice), not having money of my own to move out to do whatever I say I want to do when they say they can't support it themselves (even though they can save up for their frivolous expenses), not having any sensible future plans (to their standard), and overall seeming like I have no direction or sense of reality. It's very hard to figure anything out when I'm constantly psychological and emotionally exhausted from the depression, anxiety, and grief my current situation causes.
As soon as the COVID home lockdowns started here in my country, I dedicated myself fully to freelance animation and commissions, and now Mothorial, to try and justify my will to self-isolate as much as possible, and keep raising money for the future, but apparently that's not enough for them. Tensions have risen up this month over me voicing my refusal to sign up for college this year due to COVID, which I would be at a much higher risk of catching due to my only available option of commute, and which would debilitate me even further than I currently am. They have very contradictory and highly harmful demands, which no responsible parent would put on their child, let alone a young adult, and I'm under constant stress - it's untenable to keep waiting for a positive response from them, when they'd rather I be crippled for the rest of my life over a single sheet of paper, all for their own whims.
I'm hoping I can get enough support from Patreon to help me move out of my folks' home, so I can follow my own path away from their impossible standards. Maybe someday I'll be able to get a degree I'm way more confident in, but for the time being, I want to be able to survive in good health. If you can pitch in in any way, or bring in new Patrons for the journey, I'd be very grateful. I will gladly keep working on Mothorial, if it means I'm granted a better chance at life.
Thank you all for your continued support.
May the Elder guide your path, and the Mother warm your den.

Sorry to hear you have to deal with this. You do you, no matter what your parents say, and they should be proud of what you have achieved. Hope your situation will change soon for the better. Hang in there. you're doing great!
