September update (postcards, new community, official public launch!)

Hello everyone!

We hope you’ve been doing well! Today is payout day, and we’ve been working real hard since our last update - so here’s what you need to know!

The Welcome postcards have been ordered for Tier Ava ($10) and above! They should be sent out on the 8th, accounting for the weekend break. I also figured out how to make automatic name inserts so we’ll be able to deliver all future postcards even faster. If you have the appropriate tier for them and didn’t grab one, feel free to shoot me a message! (and for those who already got their Spring postcards, don’t forget our hashtags, #Mothorial and #MothorialGoodies ! Help us spread the word!)

On the same topic: The Summer postcard design is not quite ready yet. I was hoping to have it all ready to go before this post, but lots of things came up while preparing for the Foxglove Comics move, preparing the Prologue and sending out the Welcome postcards that were due! No worries, I’ll be speeding that up so you’ll get an order form for the Summer postcard before October.

(I promise we’ll get the Autumn postcard ready to go before Winter comes, ahhh)

In case you haven’t checked our last post’s update - the Foxglove Comics move has been postponed to September 12th (Saturday), so everyone’s more likely to be around to move from our current Patron Discord server to Foxglove’s and join in on the fun. We’ll be preparing an invite link which you can share with friends! As soon as you land, we’ll apply the appropriate Patreon tier roles and the special Founder role for your legacy status!

Alternatively, check back on September 12th or after, when we update our Patreon->Discord connection to direct you to Foxglove Comics with your roles automatically assigned! You can access this by heading to the Mothorial Patreon main page, clicking on the “My membership” tab and scrolling to the “Discord Community” section, where you’ll find the invite! (we advise you check after 7AM PST / 4PM GMT on September 12th - it'll definitely be ready by then!)

Those still on our current Patron Discord server will have until the 1st to move before it’s terminated! We’ll keep maintaining it until then, and will send reminders before we close it down, so you won’t forget!

Do keep in mind that certain content like Ask-A-Hewan Q&A submission and voting and spoiler chats and streams are done only on Discord, in the Foxglove Comics server with the appropriate Patreon tier roles.

Bigger news now: the reason we’ve been taking time away from merch is… we’re kicking off the Mothorial launch for real! With Foxglove Comics’ community having some very eager readers, we want them to be able to read the comic without waiting much longer than a month (and you too, of course!)

• We’ve started preparing the Prologue for release, and all Patrons will be able to read it early! We’ll start releasing Prologue pages one by one every Monday, starting on September 7th, and by the time the website’s live, all Patrons will be at least one week ahead of the curve, just like we state in the Tier descriptions! 
• We’re updating who can read the buffer on the 7th along with the Prologue launch, to apply the tier hierarchy - Tiers Ava ($10) and above will be able to read all of the buffer [all-new Prologue pages as soon as they’re ready + current Volume 1 buffer]. This means they’ll get even more content this month - if you're on Tier Feyn or Hewan and want to read all of the Prologue in advance and keep your access to current Volume 1 buffer for the next few months, consider going up a tier or two!
• Since we’ve already timed the Prologue pages’ release for this month, we now have a final date for Mothorial’s public launch - October 5th! We’ll still be adding a few things here and there, but the website is live (check it out @ mothorialcomic.com!) in case you want to share with others for bookmarking - any amount of sharing is very much appreciated! Check the website on October 5th for comic pages and updates!

We have our first Mothorial $50 patron - everyone welcome Rem! (we hope you enjoy your time here!) This means we’ll be kicking off the high-tier rewards.

We’ll showcase a big one that everyone might like: the Writer’s Blog, where our main writer Ari will be describing our journey through creating Mothorial in terms of script and worldbuilding. Anyone on Tier Ackerley ($25) and above will get these on the 15th of every month. (we’ll make this first one a freebie, describing our first steps into creating Mothorial - stay tuned!)

As a last note: we did plan on having a couple goodies for Founders and Tier Ava and above in time for the public launch, but that’s on shaky ground right now. We have plenty to do as is (both on mine and Ari’s sides), and physical merch is not as high-priority as, say, more comic pages or a fully integrated website. We do apologize in advance! If we see enough interest, and higher patronage to help us cover the production and shipping costs, we’ll definitely try and speed things up for y’all.

Right now, we’re planning our first steps into making stickers (just need printing) and Mothorial business cards (for word-of-mouth sharing!). We figure these will be cheap, easy to print, deliver and use, and shouldn’t get caught in the usual bureaucracies of customs fees and crazy delivery times. We hope these are cool rewards!
