June Update: on postcards and current status on Mothorial
Added 2020-06-05 02:47:07 +0000 UTCHello everyone, and thank you for your support, especially the new Patrons! We hope you enjoy your time here.

Before we get started on the Patreon matters: there's been a lot of hardship these past two weeks in the Black Lives Matter movement. The Mothorial team mourns for those who've died unfairly due to racial profiling and police brutality, whether in or outside the current protest wave. We believe everyone should have an equal right to live life to their fullest, regardless of race, gender, orientation, or disability, and seeing those who swear to protect their citizens fighting against them in such a manner, in and out of the movement, while seeing countless fellow citizens wanting others wiped from their country over their shade of skin, is very disheartening. We stand against white supremacy and police brutality.
If you can, please do whatever you can to support the cause by checking out the official Black Lives Matter link page. If you're in the US, please make sure you're registered to vote to make even greater change happen from the ground-up! And don't forget your masks! Stay safe out there, everyone.

Okay, so most important item on the to-discuss list: I haven't been able to get the Spring postcards sent just yet. The services I'm looking into for outsourcing printing and shipping demand an entry fee that's been too hefty to handle, due to me not being able to keep savings as healthy while I do freelance work until I get that done and their paycheck in. For the time being, I'll be taking a couple smaller commissions from regular clients so I can help cover the postcard orders as soon as I can! I'll make sure the postcards include a special treat for y'all. <3
Other rewards' production should be on the horizon with shops slowly opening up from lockdown mode, which will mean I can get things like stickers and other postcards printed and sent myself instead of needing outsourcing! I won't promise any dates just yet, though.
Page production has been halted until I can get more free time on my hands. I'm on a small dip in productivity and trying to get back on track, so I'm doing my best to keep a healthy balance and take care of myself. It's affected everything in terms of my art output, and that includes Mothorial. My prediction is that when I finish my main freelance work and the bigger commissions on my current queue, I can slot more Mothorial work into my schedule, most likely through a stream day every week. Look forward to it!
Sadly because of this, the public launch of Mothorial is being delayed. The increased viewership would bring more support, which would be great, but that would also demand me to put in more time towards rewards when currently I don't have much to spare. We are already working on a website to host the webcomic on, so we'll keep polishing it until the right time comes!
Writing is still going strong. Ari has been having more free time on his hands due to being unemployed for the past couple months, so we've been brainstorming the story happening further down the line so everything is nice and tight in terms of plot when it reaches you. The current volume hasn't gone through major changes compared to its state when pages started being shared, but we're hoping loose ends won't be left untied regardless!
While I'm here, I need to inform you that due to Patreon now needing to charge sales tax on (certain) rewards (in select countries) starting July 1st, your pledge amount might change next month. For most of you, it should stay the same, and those affected should only get charged a few extra cents, so don't fret! Either way, Patreon themselves should send you an email regarding this, and I'm hoping that helps answer any questions you might have regarding these changes. I'm nailing things down to keep it as fair as I can to everyone affected - if anything jumps out as strange, let me know! If you have questions, you should be able to find answers here. If you still have questions, the best place to get an answer is from Patreon’s customer support team, here.
That's all from us for now! Ari and I are signing off. Stay safe, and happy Pride Month to all!
