April 2020 Overview

Disclaimer: I realize we're April First, but all of the stuff in that summary is True. Screw April's fool this year, too much crap going on :P

Greetings everyone! So...Coronavirus, eh? That's been something to deal with. This translated into a continuous drop in support for the comic (~1150$ in March compared to ~1550$ in December) but that's understandable given the worldwide situation. Know that Fvt will continue as usual for now, but if things drop too low there might be less updates in the coming months, but the comic will remain in full color no matter what. I got nothing else to say regarding the pandemic that you haven't read or heard elsewhere, so, stay safe!

As good news go, however, I'm happy to report that my next comic project, Journey Through Amarenthos, is moving forward and we're aiming for a launch this late April! People who are on the discord have seen some design sketches and discussions about the lore so it's not much surprise to them, but this probject has been in the work since August last year, so I'm really looking forward to getting the first pages done!

For those who haven't heard about it, Journey Through Amarenthos (JTA) will be a sfw comic following the adventures of Lo Kinhold as they try everything they can to save their world, including making dangerous pacts with dark forces. The comic will be done in a particular format and use a different narration style than FvT, I often described it as having a more "movie-like" feel to it.

You might wonder why I decide to work at a loss on a new project right now, well there's a few reasons: 

First, as I said this project has been in the work for almost a year, and fundings for it where generous when we started. 

Second, it's a two person project that I do with my wife, it's something we really want to do. While she helps on FvT with coloring and text, she doesn't have a part in the story and development much, JTA will be our project that we are developping and will expand on together. 

Third, nsfw is becoming harder and harder to monetize everywhere, and JTA will be a new, sfw, easy-to-share Flagship project that anyone can read anywhere, and bring more people in to support me and my work.

I have been considering turning this Patreon into a "Eldrik is doing comics" thing rather than keeping it FvT-centric, but honestly I just don't like Patreon at this point, and want to use their platform as little as possible. With JTA, I will be able to accept direct paypal or even credit card donation in the future on the sfw subdomain of my website, and the funds will help BOTH comics, same for discord donations, which are currently a thing you can partake in right now if you're interested in an alternative. With that being said, I might upload some JTA content here randomly, but the comic will be primarly uploaded on Discord, Twitter, Newgrounds, maybe other social platform later on, and its official website once I find time to put it together.
