Bestiary Artwork [Nyxalune - Fan Creature]

Hey peeps!

Just to keep you up to date on everything going on, I have 2 new fan creatures! The first is this Nyxalune (it's a glass orb with the fish inside) and it was made by Skyler as a fan-creature that will be part of the Frith Chronicles world!

Here is the creature's power set. (Hopefully you all enjoy!)

Nyxalune

Description: Nyxalune’s are a glass orb that floats through the air at walking speed. Its insides resemble crystal-clear water with two koi fish forever circling at a slow pace. One fish is white with a black spot on its head, and the other is black with a white spot. Each day, the fish most in the front of the orb changes as they rotate.

If the nyxalune is damaged, the glass cracks, but no water ever leaks out. If the nyxalune is killed and broke open, no fish are within. It always appears as solid glass.

Trial of Worth: In order to bond with a nyxalune, one must seek out its hiding spot, typically in the depths of a dark cave. There, the potential arcanist must endure their arm being rotted, and then fight through the pain to find the cave exit. If they can return to the light, the nyxalune will heal the rotted limb and find them worthy.

Reproduction: Fable—whenever twins die at roughly the same time, and their blood intertwines, a newborn nyxalune appears.

Evocation: Energy—yhe nyxalune and its arcanist can evoke energy. This has no visible appearance, but it grants those nearby reserves of strength and attention (dispelling fatigue, exhaustion, and waking those who are asleep). Additionally, arcanists and their eldrin don’t feel drained from using their magic, even if they use it for hours straight.

Manipulation: Entropy—if the nyxalune or its arcanist touch someone or something, they can manipulate entropy’s effect on their target. This results in rapid aging or decaying. Within a few seconds, a limb can become shriveled, and in a minute or so of constant contact, can cause death.

Augmentation: Twin Fish—the ability the arcanist and its eldrin can use are determined by whichever fish is frontmost in the glass orb of the nyxalune.

[White Fish]—Soul—if the white fish is forward in the orb, the nyxalune and its arcanist can heal souls (repair permanent magical damage, remove corruption, and heal from potential attacks from the abyss).

[Black Fish]—Body—if the black fish is forward in the orb, the nyxalune and its arcanist can heal physical damage (cuts, bruises, entropy rot, etc.).

Imbuing: Energy Reserves—nyxalune magic enhances people’s endurance and fortitude on most items created with pieces of its glass.

Aura: Boon & Bane—when a nyxalune arcanist creates an aura, a soft mist coats the nearby area, seemingly escaping its glass orb. All friends receive healing for their injuries, while all enemies are unable to heal, and their injuries rot faster, killing them quicker.

Innate Abilities: Immunity to mind-affecting abilities, entropic decay, and forced slumber.

True Form Type: Geas—the nyxalune arcanist must have a pair of twins as direct children from their line in order for the nyxalune to gain its true form.

True Form Appearance: A true form nyxalune appears to be a miniature glowing white moon that floats at about walking speed. Two ghostly koi fish forever orbiting around it, one a shining white, and one a void-drenched black. These koi are incorporeal and aren’t physical.

True Form Ability: Forever Peace—a nyxalune and its arcanist become immune to magical corruption, magical manipulation, and mental illness.
