About FvT year 2...
Added 2018-03-02 00:19:35 +0000 UTCWhile Patreon is still processing pledges I can't do my monthly summary, so in the meantime I have a question to ask all of you! On Fairies vs Tentacles' second anniversary, I made the content of year 1 fully public in the form of a zip pack, after approval from the patreon supporters. We're now a few months into the third year of FvT, so I will ask you all:
Would you be okay with me making a content pack encompassing year 1 and 2 and making that pack fully available to the public?
That content would be all the comic pages, bonus artworks, character sheets and character questions that were made between November 2014 and November 2016, and would be linked here as well for you to download it, in case you feel you've missed out on some stuff.
If there's more than 30% of the total votes as "No" I won't do it. Feel free to ask questions and give your opinion in the comments!
This poll will close on March 11th, in 10 days.

Jean Paul, this isn't actually for the patrons, as such. Eldrik was asking if it'd be ok for him to make everything available SO FAR to everyone, not just us. This is great as a draw for people unsure about becoming a patron, and it's stuff we've had access to for ages, so I say go ahead!
2018-03-03 12:07:46 +0000 UTCas long as it is downloadable as 1 part without teh other stuff

2018-03-02 15:36:15 +0000 UTCI don't believe the main appeal of the patrons projects is the old stuff lol. If you're pledging to support a videogame, you're not doing it to get access to the 6 months old Alpha, you're doing it to get access to the latest version and maybe even influence its development, welll fine for most , i dont see it that way if i wanted extra stuff i would have payed more for it in a higher tier, i pay for teh comic itself and thats all i want. but as i said if thats what you want fine by me , atleast i wont download it, as i said teh comic is my main :P

2018-03-02 15:33:11 +0000 UTCI believe you're free to do what you want with the artwork you created, Elrik, but you're being considerate of what your supporters are thinking and this is very nice of you. I'll share my 2 cents: if we are paying, it's to support your work and to help create more FvT, not to "buy" the rights to something or to have custom artwork developed for us. That would cost much more and would also imply a very different relationship between you and us. Moreover, the pictures are freely published after some time; it's a free-spirited vision I particularly like. So I don't think it's unfair to us to collect all that's been published up to now and make it available to all people, to those who recently decided to offer their pledge, to those who didn't know about FvT, or even to those who just want to see the story for free. On the contrary, I'm quite happy about it.

2018-03-02 11:40:51 +0000 UTCBest chance for me to get the whole stuff in one go instead of finally getting my butt moving to work through all the posts ^^;

2018-03-02 08:13:05 +0000 UTCI think that's a good idea! There's probably heaps of little extras I missed that I'd like to sift through

2018-03-02 07:28:01 +0000 UTCI don't really care. I joined the patreons because the collection was aviable and I had a chance to see everything to make my decision beforehand. I think the advantage of having earlier access to pictures you paint is satisfying enough for me, I don't need exclusive access.

2018-03-02 07:11:55 +0000 UTCI see what you mean, but truth is, the real incentive is getting the stuff right as it's made, like the comic pages 1 month ahead of the public, or having a level of control over the content in the higher tiers. I don't believe the main appeal of the patrons projects is the old stuff lol. If you're pledging to support a videogame, you're not doing it to get access to the 6 months old Alpha, you're doing it to get access to the latest version and maybe even influence its development. The goal of crowdfunding projects, whether it's kickstarter, patreon or indiegogo, is to invest in the future of a project, not buy a copy of the stuff that's already there, that's what regular stores are for. At least that's how I see things and how I structured this whole project from the get go. What kills projects is thieves who redistribute the brand new content as it's made, that is quite bad.
2018-03-02 04:42:06 +0000 UTCyes i do , i can read , well in my case , i should have payed for a higher reward, to get acces to the bonus stuff ,easy as that, i didnt do that, to bad for me. still its your work so you can do what you want with it, but still i find peopel that do pay for a certain Tier, need to keep a incentive, i see it like this"if your planing to do this evry year or so, then people dont need to pay anymore, they just wait a year or so, and then get it for free, this totaly kicks sites as patreon in the ass", if evrybody would do this no artist would get anymore money for there work. i like to support artists for there work ,evn if its by means of only 1 $ , and if that means i dont get bonus stuff, other people pay 5$/10$ or whateverr for then why have diffrent Tiers at all.

2018-03-02 04:02:44 +0000 UTCYou do realize that this pack would get you the bonus stuff you didn't have access to as well, right?
2018-03-02 01:45:05 +0000 UTCthat way we suporters have still something extra
Jean Paul Massaut
2018-03-02 01:20:39 +0000 UTCi normaly would not mind , but seeing i and a few others paid for it even if its a little, i would be fine with making it availeble to evrybody else , but then put it in a lower res verrsion or dont include the bonus stuff

2018-03-02 01:20:20 +0000 UTCWell In my own folder, the artworks, char sheets and char questions are already separated, and so are the comic pages, but you'd want that sorted by years?
2018-03-02 01:00:50 +0000 UTCCould you separate the years into two packs? That would be easier on our end for organizing.
