Update: 0.6.6

Hey folks!

At long last, here we are together again.  It’s been a while, longer than I would have liked, but there have been innumerable obstacles popping out of nowhere to derail me at every turn.  I hope against hope, I wish against wish, that some day I can finish this… but you know what they say - wish in one hand, shit in the other, and see which one gets full first.  In any event, we made it, we’re here, so let’s dish!

There’s a couple things I want to briefly touch on here, so I’ll just get right into it.  My writing plan this past interval was to include nighttime writing to my regular weekends.  As you can probably tell, it didn’t really work out, as most nighttimes became nighty-nighttimes.  This time... I’ll be trying the same thing and just hoping for some better luck.  How did I come up with this amazing strategy, you ask?  Well, I literally have no other alternative.  Honestly, I can’t express my appreciation enough to all of you for continuing to support and follow the game under these conditions.

In going through the game, I fixed a few bugs along the way, and encountered one that featured rather prominently.  The Fats storyline was repeatable in week two, which was obviously not intended.  I also noticed that it had the potential of blocking out his actual week two scenes.  You have likely found that scene yourself, but it’s possible that it could be missed in some playthroughs because of this bug.  It allows for you to give Fats ‘a hand’ or ‘run for him’.  Note, there are no additional scenes further to that, but if you missed them prior, that is now fixed.  If you do happen to find a bug, let me know, either here or on discord, thanks in advance :)

Let’s talk about the voting real quick.  Last time, you voted rather strongly in favor of the week two party.  Looking at the current poll, it’s closer this time, but the overall trend is leaning to the party continuation.  This might be the first time we’ve had three consecutive votes for the same path.  There’s a reason why I’m pointing this out, which will become more clear when you understand the nature of this current update.  That being said, you still have the ability to change your votes after playing this new update.

The funny thing about this update, is that it’s the largest one in over a year, but it feels so short.  By the time you start reading, it’s over…  The reason for this, is that I started all of the possible paths and choices you can make for the entire first leg of the party.  So the bad thing is, the paths end quickly, but there is also an advantage.  I wanted to show you what the party has to offer, and specifically, which characters you can expect to meet.  Spoiler without spoiling, Furio’s money might come into play here (and later in the party) so maybe grab some of that if you want.  It’s mostly choice based, but one of the scenes has an alpha/beta requirement (with the beta scene being substantially longer).

The structure of it aside, I was pretty excited about this update, just in terms of the setting itself, and the general vibe of the time.  I hope you like it too, but if you don’t, there is still plenty of time to rethink your vote.
