Update: 0.5.2
Added 2020-08-06 23:03:45 +0000 UTCHey Everyone!
We’re back into full swing with a new update for this month. The voters had no trouble registering a landslide victory for… The RPG path!!! Now when I say RPG path, you’re probably thinking, that’s great! I really missed hanging out with Ted… Ok, maybe you’re not thinking that, but Ted and Ivan are inextricably linked with the RPG, and vice versa. That said, there’s variations to account for since last time, and they’re all covered here as well. So play as Jain or Roh, plugged or unplugged to see the different variations, if you like.
Aside from that, we’ve also dipped a toe into the actual RPG part of the RPG path. When I first started this project, I debated whether I should do a 90’s nostalgia game, or an RPG. With quite a few other RPGs out there, the 90’s game seemed to be the more novel approach. And so, the RPG became the “game within the game”, and I’m pretty happy with how it’s progressing so far. Still though, I’ve always had this inkling of making it a standalone game on its own. The problem is, I obviously can’t develop two games at once, so it will be a while - if it ever happens. The reason I’m pointing this out, is because I have so many ideas for the RPG, but in the interest of moving things along, they won’t all be implemented – at least not initially.
What else… what else… Oh yeah! It would be kind of a pain to click through the whole game just to see the new content, so after the RPG session in week one, you can skip right to the end of week two and continue the RPG. Bear in mind, you will not be able to progress through week two if you do this – but that’s what saves are for :)

Yeah, it's something that I've discussed with other devs too, they call it exponential explosion. That's the main reason the game doesn't have tons of options to choose from, because it quickly becomes unmanageable. The goal is to get the basic paths down and sprint to the finish. At that point, I will be free to flesh out more paths, options and variations.

2020-08-10 15:53:36 +0000 UTCIt's a really good idea to keep the RPG contained. While it might be good, one has to prioritize. Many projects end up stalling when their creators try to spread themselves too thin too fast. That said, I've been skipping updates, so there is more to do once I replay, but this I can't skip.
