World Sovereign

The conversation between Lust and Isabel didn’t only confuse the other girls, but Seth, who had ceased control of his body to Lust, was also equally terrified.

‘Lust, what is the meaning of this?’ asked Seth inside his mind, a dangerous tone in his voice.

‘I apologize for keeping things hidden from you for so long, my host, but I had to, or you would have never agreed.’

‘Of course I wouldn’t. Are you mad? What right do you have to use my wife to conduct your experiments?’ Seth erupted, his destruction source releasing energy and covering his entire body, surrounding the lust and perception sources.

Lust’s control over Seth’s body also disappeared, and it fell forward, unconscious. Seth was inside his soul sea, looking at the will housed inside his lust source before him.

Destruction energy raged inside his soul, changing its usual gently white light to a threatening dark red one.

“Please calm your anger, my host. Our goals are aligned, and we both seek the same end.” Lust’s voice drifted through the sea, but Seth’s cold expression didn’t change.

“If you’re still spewing bullshit like that, I guess I made another mistake,” said Seth, the destruction energy moving through the sea and heading straight for Lust’s will.

Lust took the same form as Katy and fell to her knees before Seth. “I beg of you; please have mercy.”

Seth’s eyes flashed dark red when he saw her form, and the energy already reaching Lust’s source started consuming her even faster.

“Please stop, Seth,” a new voice followed soon, and Isabel appeared inside Seth’s soul, grabbing his hand with a worried expression.

Seth paused his attack on his source and turned his cold eyes on Isabel.

Isabel gulped nervously and said: “She’s keeping your wife alive. We don’t know what will happen to her if you kill her.”

Despite Isabel’s argument making sense, Seth was unfazed once more. “You have one more try. I’ll pull Katy’s soul out of that thing myself and don’t need a snake’s help. Now I understand what all those links were. She’s using the wills inside my wives to flood that seed growing inside Katy to reform that All-mother being. That’s why the influence of the greater wills always appeared a lot weaker on them.”

Isabel quickly nodded and looked at Lust as she was writhing in pain above the sea soul. “She was, and I know it’s not right, but I know that Katy is not in danger. I can feel the soul inside her cocoon only growing stronger. Please spare my sister. Not for me, not for her, but for you. You need her if you ever want to fulfill your goal of leaving this place.”

Seth smiled coldly and shook his head. “You’re wrong there. I can already leave this place without her help.”

Turning to look at Lust, Seth removed the destruction energy around her will and spoke coldly. “But I guess I’ll spare you for now.”

While Lust was heaving a relieved sigh and standing back up, Seth continued. “But your games and moves in the shadow end now. You must learn your place, or I’ll destroy you and that seed inside Katy.”

Lust smiled wryly, picking herself up as she nodded. “I will. Thank you for sparing me.”

Seth snorted and asked: “Tell me everything you’re planning. The links, your plans. Everything. You only get one pass since you were not completely useless, but the next time I find out you hid something for me, I’ll wipe you out with no hesitation.”

Lust lowered her head and bit her lower lip before she started speaking. “Your deduction was right. When I met that human girl, I used my energy to turn her from a human being into a spiritual one, all with the plan of using her as a source to sprout a spiritual seed.”

“Spiritual seeds are the soul forms taken by gods in their early stages. All the other energy wills were born as spiritual seeds.”

“After the seed was formed out of my and perception energies, we used the link to Caitlin to infuse it with Life and Death, allowing its shell to be formed out of the main energies forming the All-mother’s body and soul.”

“Once the seed was formed and started growing ripe, I froze its progress and had been infusing energy from the others inside it, trying to restore just enough of All-mother’s essence that she had blessed her children with to spark her will to come back to life.”

“Once her will returned, the seed will be able to sprout again, giving birth to a being of the same level as the All-mother. It won’t be the same All-mother that gave birth to all of us, only a fragment of her, but that fragment will be able to recover herself and eventually return to her peak.”

“She will become the same goddess in the past and will be able to support our existence once more. As you already know, Life, Death, Perception, and I are already fading wills. Without the All-mother returning, we’ll slowly fade out of existence.”

Seth lowered his head and asked. “How long will it take until Katy wakes up?”

“I don’t know. A few eons? Maybe more,” replied Lust with hesitation, afraid Seth would once more attack her in his rage.

Seth nodded and waved his hand, making Lust disappear from his soul sea and turning to Isabel. “Let’s get back.”

Hollie and Maya supported Seth with a worried look into the real world. They were not concerned about his health, but the destruction energy they could feel moving throughout his body.

Feeling his body jerk up, both of them asked simultaneously. “What happened?”

Seth looked at the girls and shook his head before fixing his eyes on Katy’s cocoon. Noticing Isabel materializing not that far off, he asked: “Are you sure she was not lying?”

“She wouldn’t dare. She only wants for mother and her sisters to find a way to survive,” replied Isabel, kneeling before Seth and grabbing his hand. “Please, again, forgive her. She was wrong to do that behind your back, but she’s not evil. None of us are… sigh.”

Seth didn’t comment, not caring if she was evil or not. All he cared about was that she had used him, even putting one of his lovers in a coma behind his back. Despite all that, he knew he needed Lust if he planned to leave this world with his wives.

He had not lied before since he knew he could drift along the destruction energy and leave through any spirit spring in the world straight outside, but to take the others along wouldn’t be so easy. He needed to break the void barrier surrounding the simulation first.

The same wall that blocked him before had to be taken down.

Rubbing the worried Maya and Hollie’s hands, Seth said: “You’ll have to keep everything you have learned here a secret, but I wanted at least all of you to know the truths of this world.”

“As I had said many times before, I will never give up until I leave this fake world or prison, but I also want to take all of you. To do that, we’ll need to break that barrier.”

Seeing Isabel stand up and move back, Seth sighed and continued: “I looked at the barrier, and it is indeed just like Isabel said. Liquid silver energy as I had never seen before. My destruction energy at a god level didn’t leave a single dent in it, but that doesn’t mean breaking it is impossible.”

Smiling at Isabel, Seth asked: “Did you figure it out? The reason that dumb sovereign couldn’t break out despite his immense power?”

Isabel shook her head, and Hollie asked, “Because it was made to stop him? It is a barrier set up to prevent void beings from passing through after all.”

“But why couldn’t Seth or any other gods pass through?” asked Isabel right after Hollie.

“Because she probably didn’t want the void sovereign to have her children be forced or compelled to help him. Isabel, did you say that the sovereign created these void prisons?” asked Seth.

After Isabel nodded, Seth lowered his head, and Hollie said: “That doesn’t seem right. How could he create void barriers if he can’t break the one the All-mother set up?”

Seth nodded silently and asked inside his head: ‘What do you think?’

<The only possible conclusion is that Isabel’s information is inaccurate.>

<The World Sovereign never created us, but the All-mother did.>

<If you could use the energy springs to travel outside, he must have used the same way to enter the pocket worlds and corrupt the wills governing the inside, turning them into his simulation control towers. That way, he could still control the world and stop the All-mother from fulfilling the goal for which she had created them.>

‘But he still appears to want someone to break those barriers….’

<That is most likely. The World Sovereign must have figured out that if someone could break the small barriers, he could eventually do the same with the larger barrier keeping him imprisoned.>

<If our conclusion is right, if you leave this world, the outside might not be so welcoming…>

‘Already figured that out.’

With the system confirming his assumptions, Seth raised his head and sighed before explaining the same conclusion to his wives.

Once done, Seth turned to Isabel and asked: “How did you conclude that World Sovereign created the simulations?”

“I, and as far as I can figure out, Death, Perception, and Lust, had also managed to form consciousnesses in the other worlds. We can share knowledge between the worlds, and since many of me had already learned that information from the Tower, I took it as the truth.”

Seth was about to speak when Lust whispered in his mind. ‘She’s wrong. Perception and I never formed a single conscious will outside this world. Yggdrasil’s presence in multiple iterations of the pocket worlds had assured that she and Death managed to form consciousnesses. Still, my information comes from only this world and amounts to the memories I inherited from the All-mother.’

‘Did the All-mother create the pocket worlds?’

‘Most likely, but the memories I had managed to recover are not complete yet. I apologize.’

Seth didn’t bother to correct Isabel and nodded. “That settles it, then. The manipulation of the World Sovereign is the one that corrupted these worlds, but he was never their creator.”

“So, what are we going to do now?” asked Maya from the side.

“The same thing we’ve been planning to do the entire time. We’ll break the void barrier and leave this simulation.”

“The only thing that had changed is that we need to be more careful. We’ll need to find a way to avoid the World Sovereign until we gather some more strength and get used to the outside.”

Seth smiled wide and said: “It’s time to increase our strength and start god hunting. I planned on skipping them, but we might need those divinities after all.”
