Astra - Monthly Update (February 2024)

Hello hello!

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far. :^) Just sliding by to provide a quick monthly update; let's get started!

FIXES

We did a bunch of fixes related to the Helen and Zeke endings (Zeke kept showing up at the beach, this was due to one of his variables transcending almost every ending lol). Along with this, there was a handful of just continuity issues that we fixed up as well.

In terms of the phat bugs that are remaining, we have done a Nova Sky and Norbert fish fix that we think might fix the freeze issue! If it still happens, please let us know as well as provide your log as we increased the logging level to troubleshoot further.

Current Status

The game is now FULLY voiced including all the extra characters AND The redo/missing for the main cast! What is left is just some missing/redoes for extras.

We are also likely to do a bit of audio balancing as the volume is a bit whacked at points in the game. Some extra characters also didn't quite fit the intention of the NPC so we might tweak a couple of those too.

But with all that being said, the fabled day has finally arrived and I would say it is the peak time to play the game if you have been waiting! From whereon out is just polish so the game is mostly in its completed state.

Lastly on the agenda is that we've had a numerous people asking us what a 'indefinite break' is, does that mean PixelFade is closing, are we coming back...etc. To clarify, we aren't closing meaning our games will still continue to get updates and support, and we'll do bug fixes and such even after Astra launches. What we don't have is a game currently in the pipeline as it were meaning nothing new is in active development. It's kind of like we are in maintenance mode.

The second question is are we going to be coming back since it's technically a break. This one is tricky to answer so firstly let me not give you false hope and say it is better to just assume that it is indeed an indefinite break. Now for those who want to breath in a little hopium, we might experiment around with non-VN stuff, whether that be other genres of game or maybe non-gaming explorations (a Leanna After Story manga? Anthology CG that are canon to story?...etc). Let's see what the future may or may not hold!

That is the update the update for this (last?) month! I am still urging y'all to switch over to free membership until if and when we start cooking again. Despite that, thank you for your support as it does fund the companies upkeep expenses (accounting, licensing...etc), possible experimentation, as well as almond milk for Dishu! :^)
