Astra - Monthly Update (May 2024)

Hello Patrons,

Hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far! We really came down to the wire for the May update but it is finally here. So without further delay, let's get started!

WRITING

This section is going to be fairly concise now that the game is complete. We may add something in here if there is any sort of major changes or continuity updates. For now, everything is completed and good to go!

CHARACTER ART

BACKGROUND ART

Just a couple more BGs for a Polaris home. We have a color muted but lavish styling that has a instant recognition as being from Polaris! There is still a handful of other BGs we are currently working on to round things out.

ANIMATION

Nothing further for animations at this time. Still thinking about updating the UI for the game but I will wait just a little bit then do a vote to see what your thoughts are on the existing one!

PROGRAMMING

Firgof has been working like a madman to get the final episode all completed! The reading version is done which you can check out in an earlier post:(https://www.patreon.com/posts/astral-ascension-104356543) 

Efforts are currently in the art+audio version. This one will take a bit longer since there is a lot of expressive scenes and the final send off needs to look and feel special!

AUDIO

We are thinking if we want BeepBoop to be done by a VO or sound design. I am really leaning towards sound design just so Eric Benaim (our composer) will have a 'character' that he has done! We'll see where things go.

VOICE

We finished auditions at over 1700+ submissions! The main cast was finalized and is available here for you to hear:

Speaking of voice, our cast is working at LIGHTNING speed. Celeste has already recorded everything, and most of the VO's have already completed two of the episodes! This is moving A LOT faster than we thought which means the release may also be sooner than we think as well. O_O

Overall, very happy with how voice over is turning out and the work ethic we are getting from the talents!

That is all the updates for this month! It may seem short in terms of reading a Patreon post but rest assured there is an immense amount of progression happening in development right now! We are down to the final piece of the puzzle which is voice and then we can start thinking about release timelines!
