Astra - Monthly Update (July 2023)

Let's get into the July update!

WRITING

It's the final episode my friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course the scene names have big spoilers and I'm sure you can piece together what the flow is. Iris' arc is the focus of this episode as well as MC's main storyline with his IAP business. We also have the hotspring scene planned here however since it is a self-contained fan service style act, we'll be doing that at the end (basically it'll go act 1 -> 3 -> 4 -> Epilogues -> 2).

The big news is the act splitting is working as intended and as you can see, act 1 first draft is basically done! Once it is reviewed and edited, we can send it to our narrative developer to get started on that. I would say you can expect Act 1 sometime in late August.

CHARACTER ART

CGs and character artwork is all done and completed! Sunimu is taking a well deserved break for a bit. We will likely use feedback to see where additional CG artwork can be added as well as other NPCs that would be nice to have.

BACKGROUND ART

Background artwork was also quiet as we pretty much have all the essentials. What we may do is revisit some re-used locations and see if we can flesh them out with alternative stylings! More to come in the upcoming weeks.

ANIMATION

The Astral Ascension Opening was fully completed this month!!!! You can check it out here:

PROGRAMMING

We fixed a bunch of UI bugs especially where the save and load was bugging out on the slave planet. There was also some problems with the CG gallery which is fixed as well.

On the narrative developer side, he worked overtime to get Act 3 wrapped up! He'll be taking a little break while writing catches up then be working on Episode 6 Act 1 soon enough!

AUDIO

We are having Eric make the last tracks for the epilogues as well as starting to think about the Astral Ascension Ending track! More to share coming soon when we get the first iterations. On another note, we are starting to think about voice over work and have started some initial talent pool building. Stay tuned!
