Astra - Monthly Update (April 2023)

Hello Patrons,

Happy Saturday!! Just here to drop that spicy April 2023 monthly update. So without further delay, let's get started. :^)

WRITING

The writing for Episode 5 - Act 2 is finally complete! It took longer than originally anticipated with a combination of the scenes being the confessions, some time off by our writers, and some other IRL factors, but we finally done.

The word count for this act ended up being 25795. In comparison, a typical episode in our previous games were about 35k - 40k so as you can see the amount of content for Astra is quite substantial where each episode is equivalent to about two or more episodes of our previous games AND Astra has 6 episodes mapped!

Just 1 more act left for episode 5, then onward to 6 and we DONSO. The finish line is in sight and we are making great strides towards it!

CHARACTER ART

The Sunimu is currently working on NPC portraits for important characters and mission characters. We shared some extremely rough previews early this month but should have some more substantial WIP to show in the upcoming week or so.

BACKGROUND ART

Background has been quiet again this month as the work was done fast for existing episodes. We will be extracting BG requirements from Episode 6 soon and also seeing where we can add some additional artwork for the game.

ANIMATION

PROGRAMMING

With the writing for Episode 5 - Act 2 all wrapped up, our scene developer is hard at working crafting those now. The estimated time of completion is about 2 weeks so that means you will have something playable by early May by the latest. Please look forward to that!!!!!

AUDIO

On the audio front, the main menu song was completed which you can listen to in the main menu Patreon post linked above. Right now, Eric's attention will be moving on to creating the SFX for existing episodes as the current OST is quite robust! We may add a couple tracks here and there going into the future.
