Favourite Aspect of PF Games

Hello Patrons,


Hope everyone is having a fantastic day! I was hoping to check-in on what aspect of PF games you like the most. Astral Ascension is pretty far along in development and usually around this time we start having some super early conceptualizations of what the next game could be.

Below is a poll with some of the main game aspects, please feel free to vote on TWO of your favourite things about PF games. This will make sure we are well attuned to what makes PF games special!

Although I did my two votes, I'll have to go with the others: All of it honestly :D The art and music are amazing and I really dig your style of humor. The way PF writes the characters and interactions just make them so lovable.

Other: The characters. Not their interactions or their visual design, the characters themselves. If there is one thing I associate with PF novels, it is the love they show for every one of their characters. Even back in ACE, when they were still quite stereotypical, they were so full of life. What could have been yet another tsundere in a VN was fully fleshed out with hobbies, interests, family, backstory, an own view on life and everyday interactions not only with MC, but also with other characters. How often do you actually see this? Also they can really write scenes that define characters or give you a completely new view on them: Kaori in the daycare, Val's kickbox training, the dream sequences in Crys' Shadow Temple, Eri's flower arrangement...I could name dozens of them. This translates into the romance writing. Risa's route in EE has only a few scenes, but each one is done with so much care that the romance actually works. I can't imagine something like that in any other VN.

I see why the Romances are in lead, since they are great af. Still I think there are also a lot of other VN with great romances. For me personally, what do PF games make great (and probably the best VNs on the market) is the high amount of choices. You can really play as you like and be yourself without "just watching" all the time.

Just the writing in general. The comedy and romance are almost always on point. That and good character designs.

Two options isnt't fair there is so much that makes these VN's. My personal top 4 would be Romance, Character interactions, Story and branching paths. So as Boreas Winter puts it "ALL OF IT"

Other: Maybe I just don't know where this fits in, but the call backs to earlier choices being recognized by characters later in the game. Not (just) the big story choices, but rather the seemingly smaller choices that appear to mostly be color/flavor.
