Astra - Monthly Update (November 2021)

Hello Patrons,

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend! This is the monthly update for November 2021 for Astral Ascension; please note there are small to medium spoilers (artwork and locations that are main path specific but may reveal certain game content).

I also noticed that I forgot to add a section for music/sfx so we will be adding in a header for Audio.

Let's get started!

WRITING

Episode 3 writing was completed this month! You can check out the read-only version of all the content thus far by checking out this post:

Going into December, we already have a good amount of script planning done for Episode 3 part 2 since they were originally connected. That means that content should be coming in a lot sooner than a normal episode spread. On another note, it has more of the fluffy content since part 1 had the episodic mission arc; Please look forward to it!!

CHARACTER ART

It has been a very Iris-centric month (not that I'm complaining...)! Sunimu finalized the artwork for the closet CG as well as her exotic outfit CG for Xenok's party mansion. For those of you who have had the chance to go through the read only version, this should look familiar as to the scene context!

BACKGROUND ART

Both our BG artists have been certified madlads this month! We got a bunch of BGs completed for episode 2 'Robinhood' events as well as the simulation room for Aetos. 

he simulation room is something we are adding in as one of the things we noticed is that being confined to the ship during the journey will make it boring at time for locations, so simulation room basically opens us to be able to do almost anything even while being on the ship! I'm interested to see how our writers decide to use this. ;^)

ANIMATION

Our animator has been hard at work on the celery. Her expression chart is completed and we have the initial rough animations mapped out! Some of them will be changing (namely hope, idea and suggest), however this should give a brief overview of her poses!

PROGRAMMING

Our programmer received the episode 3 part 1 script and banged through the entire thing over 4 days including the QA! I was thinking we'd have the read only closer to now but we had it out almost a week earlier. Apart from that, we did some version updates for Naninovel and Unity for feature upgrades and are playing around to see if any of these new additions can be used for Astra.

AUDIO

The Eric man himself has made the next track! This is the full blown 'anime' music piece that is used when the MC is doing something heroic, think of it like the steps towards valor track for Crystalline. You can take a listen imbedded in the post!

That's the November update! There was a lot of great work done by the team and I'm quite proud of our progression. I hope we can keep the momentum going into Holiday break. Apart from that, thank you guys for your continued support and have a great Thanksgiving!
