Hello Patrons,
Here comes the final post for 2018!!!!!! Can't believe it's already been a year... but what an amazing year it's been! :^)
We released Crystalline and Kaori After Story both of which absolutely smashed user reviews on Steam (97% and 98% scores respectively). ACE Academy now has over 1000+ reviews on Steam and is still holding a 96% overwhelmingly positive review score. Our success is largely attributed to your generosity and support.
What I mean by this is that you guys enable us to make decisions that are motivated by the best player experience rather than the best business decision. Without going into too much business mumbo jumbo, a project budget usually needs to account for about 50% to spend on marketing/PR/conventions/publicity...etc. We spend 0% of our budget on this because we rather spend that money on making the game itself better.
Sure, some might say that we are stunting the company growth by taking this approach but we want to make our journey as rewarding as possible for those that are supporting us now. So thank you again for letting us be in such a fortunate position where we can make the best games as we can rather than having to compromise for business/financial reasons.
Sorry for going off-track on a New Years post; just thought I'd share this insight on our core values and also why you guys mean so much to us. <3

Now, before anyone takes a stab at me, let me say it's only because I feel like this kind of decision humanizes you guys. Yes, it could be interpreted as stunting growth, but these things can come in time when your reputation gets even more solidified and well-known. I have friends in the VN market who call you guys the best out of every western VN creator and I agree with them, after playing Ace Academy, Crystalline, and Kaori After Story. Hell, I had a couple consider you on par to the veterans in Japan! I took a bit of a gamble buying AA back during Early Access since it had been garnering a bad rep, but I do not regret my decision to buy the game since it led me to learning about Pixelfade and joining this community here on Patreon. As a working man, I know every company of any size needs money to function, but I don't want you guys to end up in a position where you value money above all else, even if it means turning your fanbase against you like some game publishers here in the US *wink wink*. Heck, I left the first real job I had because the place was really exercising that mindset and didn't care for their employees.
