Patreon - Here we go!
Added 2020-01-19 16:16:04 +0000 UTCAfter many years, I finally created one - a Patreon page for The Phoenix Flavour. So the question now is, what will I be posting here? Well, I've had a look at Lexy's and figured monthly updates could be a neat idea, just to let you guys know where we're at. And with all the ideas I have floating in my head, it would be great to have a place where I can share them with you guys as well!
But first up, some clarifications.
Wabbajack
For those of you who do not know, Wabbjack is a new auto installer for mod setups, essentially cloning full installations without creating mod packs or otherwise infringing upon the rights of mod creators. It is an excellent tool that I support wholeheartedly!
That being said, I will not work on the WJ installer for TPF, simply because I want to focus on the main guide. Teaching others to mod "manually" is what I love doing so I'll keep doing that! Thankfully zDas (one of our moderators) as well as Lively (of the Wabbjack team) already volunteered to work on a TPF WJ installer.
This way TPF will soon be available for everyone!
The Immediate Future
For the 3.1 update I already have a bunch of smaller improvements lined up, but haven't yet settled on the bigger addition for the next update. Here is what I am considering:
- Beyond Skyrim: Bruma full integration
- Interesting NPCs (3DNPC) full integration
- Adamokrii - our custom merge of Vokrii, Adamant and Vanilla perks
- Expansion of the Resources page and Beginner's Guide
- Customisation section additions (more on that in a moment)
By the way - the 3.1 update will almost definitely include the MO2 Quick Start guide. It's sorely needed to prevent our less experienced users with the knowledge and understanding of their tools they need to have an easier time following the guide.
The Customisation Section
Because this section of the guide is fairly bare-bones at present, here are some of the ideas I had for it, each bullet point being one "category" in Customisation:
- Weather Overhaul: Instructions for different weather overhauls, which mods you would have to switch out, recommended ENB presets for them.
- Main Menu: Different main menu mods, how to create your own background wallpaper and music.
- Needs Mods: Potentially based on CC Survival with Connor's Tweaks, a light-weight "expansion" for TPF with Survival-themed mods.
- Player Homes: A list of compatible player homes mods as plug-n-play additions (think Rayek's End, Eli's Breezehome, etc).
- Harder Combat: Another expansion for more difficult combat (probably with a different Encounter Zone overhaul, Know Your Enemy for resistances, and a dodge mod).
- Plus more plug-n-play mods for the list.
The Distant Future
Here's where you'll notice my tendency to go off with crazy dreams...
- New website: Yes, I haven't let that idea go. I still want something simpler, faster, potentially Github based so that other people can commit edits or add their own guides or expansions. Considering to learn CSS and HTML after all, then use Docsify or Bootstrap.
- Subreddit: I wanted a separate sub for TPF for a long time and we're getting large enough to justify it. This would be an excellent way to discuss potential additional mods, help with troubleshooting and share screenshots.
- My Personal Setup: Besides TPF, I do have a personal, even lighter-weight setup of mods for Skyrim SE. I'm considering to turn it into a Patreon-only WJ installer.
- Fallout 4: This is not around the corner but I really want to create a guide for FO4 at some point. I like the game a lot, although nowhere near as much as Skyrim and there are some nifty mods for it out there.
So what is up next then?
Well, that is up to you guys! Please do let me know in the comments here, on reddit or our Discord server where you would like to see TPF head. For Patreons there will be a poll up very soon!
