Patreon and Sales Tax

You may have already heard about this but Patreon is getting ready to introduce sales tax to peoples' pledges. From what I understand of it, it's going to apply more to campaigns with physical rewards, but I thought it best to bring it up and let everyone know it's coming. July 1st, I believe is when they're going to put that in. It'll be based on what state your in, btw, the percentage you will be taxed. So please be conscious of that! Should only be a little extra, a few cents here and there, but yeah like I said it's best to be informed <3

I wonder how that works, because I know on my state artistic works (digital and otherwise) aren’t subject to Sales Tax. I can understand them collecting if the other state collects, but I also have a feeling they’re going to collect anyway even if neither state is subject to it. Those pennies-on-the-dollar start adding up. Thanks for the heads-up, though!
