DDL Server Maintenance & Downtime
Added 2025-12-02 14:15:42 +0000 UTCAs previously hinted at our Discord Server, we have finally started the move towards de-coupling our storage from a distributed storage system (GlusterFS) to a multiple-individual DDL storage server system (what we had till 4-5 years ago) to fix all the issues with slow download speed, slow download start and slow responsiveness/latency for public/private downloads.
As previously explained by me to a couple of users when they reported the issues, it was because of us using a centralized distributed storage which had its advantage but also costed us in terms of network latency and speed as all our DDL servers had to download from the central server while serving it to our (the users).
Once this maintenance is complete, we expect to return back to full download speed and response time. During this time, a lot of files (approx. 50%) might report missing (error 404) but worry not thats because they are being merged/transferred to individual servers and will autofix once migration is done. This whole upgrade should take 24 hours but we are doing a live migration, which means the files will transfer and auto-fix/become available in real-time.
PS: Since a lot of users want Ongoing anime, I have started Nimbus server migration first on priority. I will confirm here once each and every DDL server has finished migration.
