Arc 9 Love Interest Poll

It's been a while since I ran a poll for Rogue that would affect the story. The wedding in Arc 6 was minor since it was only a few paragraphs different from the funeral option, though it does have some emotional weight after the story's more recent events. The poll for Kaine's Fate was 5 months ago, so it's about time for another.

This time, the question will be who the love interest of Arc 9 will be. For context, Arc 9 will begin sometime after the events of The Battle of New York, as seen in The Avengers (2012). I'm still brainstorming, as we won't get to Arc 9 until autumn, so a lot is subject to change. But the following are the options and some early initial thoughts on storylines.

Also, since this is just a bit of fun, there's no reason I can't do two, kinda like Arc 4, where it was Felicia but also the start of Natasha's.

Psylocke/Captain Britain

• Elizabeth “Betsy” Braddock is a British mutant telepath. Her story is a bit complex and convoluted, but through various shenanigans with the hand, she’s been swapped between bodies with a Hand assassin named Kwannon. This is the Psylocke most well-known, as seen in X-Men: Apocalypse. Betsy has been Captain Britain.

• I’m not sure how this will play out exactly, but I’ll probably need to include a story with the Hand and maybe introduce Otherworld. I’m also not sure if it’ll be Betsy or Kwannon or something in between.

Gwen Stacy

• Lord Blood would be upset if I didn’t include this option. We’ve seen Gwen as a part of the story since Arc 4. She’s the only character in this poll already featured in the story. Since I knew this was a possibility, there are... circumstances later in Arc 7 that would explain Tyson's growing interest in Gwen.

• We all know what happens now that she survives. She moves on to school in England. Everyone loves Gwen, but if Tyson goes after her, is that betraying Peter, and how will that play out? Oh, the drama. With this option, I think I’ll explore more about Gwen becoming a spider-hero, and I’ll have to introduce a worthy Spider-Man villain.

Meggan

• Meggan Puceanu is a powerful mutant with faery heritage. She’s got a grab-bag of powers, but initially, she’s an empathic metamorph, she’s a shapeshifter that can change based on the emotions around her and adapts to her environment. But it's more than that, she can power mimic as well. If that’s not enough she can also use magic, particularly elemental magic, fly, plus she has empathy and a resistance to reality warpers.

• She has an abusive relationship with Brian Braddock (Captain Britain) in the comics, so I might lean into that. Similar to Psylocke’s story, I’ll probably include a Captain Britain story, maybe Excalibur, or Otherworld. 

Sersi

• For those of you who saw Eternals, Sersi was played by Gemma Chan. She’s an Eternal,for them, i’m thinking more MCU than comics portrayal. Sersi has the power of Matter Transmutation, she can change the makeup of any non-sentient material she touches. Used creatively, her power is absolutely insane.

• Not sure where this story would go, but I do have a few details set. Tyson will not be able to absorb Eternals, so she’s be immune to his touch. Sprite would be with her at this point, so she'll be introduced as well. I wasn't planning on telling the Eternals story… yet. But introducing Sersi at this point... I may do a modified version of it. Eternals got a bad rep, but I thought the movie was great, if a bit rushed.  Tyson does know about Tiamut
