The next two weeks are my yearly vacation. This won't mean much for you guys, because it shouldn't interfere with the regular chapter postings.
So long as I have an internet connection, you'll get your weekly fix. Image galleries and document formatting might take a hit.
But on vacation, there's so many interruptions that I don't get to write much that's directly usable. So I tend to just have fun as a opposed to writing just the next chapter for the active story. Can't really work on the OC side-project that seriously because it requires a level of polish I just can't do when I'm away. Last year, I was only writing Star Trek: TNG, and the story that I penned on vacation was the first Arc of Rogue. I ended up rewriting most of it before posting, but it was where the story got started. I also wrote the beginnings of a Worm fic that's still collecting dust.
I've had a few conversations over the past few weeks with patrons and friends, and I've got some ideas that I'm kicking around for jotting down during this year's vacation.
The most obvious is starting on Season 2 of Star Jumper. I'm thinking Season 2 will focus more on Star Trek since Season 1 was mostly Star Wars: KOTOR. I'm torn on this because I was planning to put Star Jumper on hiatus, but I did get a good rhythm going during the last few chapters.
Clouded is an idea I had while talking with Lord Blood, one of the Patrons. One thing he brought up, that I agree with is that there's a lack of MCs among fanfiction, and most fictions tbh that are people of color. While Tyson is, I haven't focused on that aspect of his character. This isn't a huge deal with Marvel, or Star Trek. But Anime... man there's like no black people there. Clouded would be a Naruto story, where Tyson gets inserted into the Hidden Cloud Village. I think it'd be fun to tell the story from that side. Especially since Naruto stereotypes black people pretty hard. Killer B with his rapping, and they try to kidnap Hinata, etc. It wouldn't be serious though. Less Falcon and the Winter Soldier, more Boondocks. This would use Jumpchain rules and the Naruto Blacked document (which is totally ridiculous).
Forever Quest was an idea I've had forever. I was talking with my brother; we used to play a D&D game that I DM'd. This would be high fantasy in the vein of the Forgotten Realms, RPGs like Everquest, Skyrim, etc. The Jumpchain rules here would be more like Star Trek: TNG early on, quest-based perks. But I've gotten better at balance, so it won't get ridiculous.
Drop a comment if you care to. Just rambling my late-night thoughts. Enjoy the cover mock-up image. Patreon doesn't allow multiple images for posts, so I shoved them all together.
