2. The first letter of the bridge in "Speedy Marie" by Frank Black is an acrostic that spells out Marie's full name (his love interest at the time). It's also a sonnet. http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11778

1. I seem to recall some 80's synth-pop band doing the same thing as Radiohead. I thought it was Information Society but a quick search of Google yields nothing.

Those are both nuts and I love them!

Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker EP" has a couple of images hidden in the songs, if you look at them as spectrograms. The song "ΔMi⁻¹ = −αΣn=1NDi[n][Σj∈C[i]Fji[n − 1] + Fexti[n⁻¹]]" produces a picture of his face: https://youtu.be/wSYAZnQmffg?t=327 Boards of Canada have always had good ones as well. On "Geogaddi", "Gyroscope" samples numbers stations for its vocals and the last song, "Magic Window", is a silent track that pads out the length of the album to 66 minutes and 6 seconds.
