That's very good. And I perused the site a little bit, there are pleasures to be found therein.

The second graders won a reading contest, and the reward was taking an afternoon off to go on a cruise. As they were about halfway around the lake, the paddlewheel fell off and sank. They were adrift for some time, to the point there was apparently some concern about not getting the kids back in time to ride buses home. They had to wait until they could track someone down who owned a big enough boat to tow it back to to the dock. A few days later, I was driving to work at Ace Hardware and an oversize load warning truck went by, followed by a flatbed truck hauling the paddlwheel they'd apparently fished out of the lake. I haven't been too eager to ride it since then.

I asked my brother who worked as a first mate (selling the popcorn, etc, depending on when Aaron got married he may have been on that cruise!) but he had no idea. I did enjoy this page, both ironically and unironically, especially the crew member stories. http://www.ridethedixie.com/historical/home.html
