Video Announcement: I'm giving away 14 years of drawings

I mentioned this yesterday in a post to Patreon supporters, but here's the video about my drawing giveaway (and a look at all the drawings, too!)

I'd love to send you a drawing.

Video Announcement: I'm giving away 14 years of drawings

I started watching your videos when I was in middle school. I'm 23 with a job, an apartment, and all the other "fun" parts of being an adult. Thank you for feeding my scientific passion all these years! I would love to have a piece of history in the form of a drawing from the channel.

James Turnbull

There are a bunch of software implementations of this, ranging from ones based on the MP videos to full 3D interactive "games". My issue with all of them is that you can't see what's going on "under the hood" so to speak, and it feels like the computer could just be doing anything. Whereas the physical one is pretty clear that it's nothing fancy (I mean, it is a little fancy looking, but nothing is hidden inside/underneath).

I kinda figured after watching the video again. Having to use multiple fingers to slide the rails, and it still did not slide smoothly. But I STILL WANT ONE! Oh, well, thanks for responding. Hrmm, how about software? :-)

I'd be thrilled to have a MinutePhysics drawing. I've shown the video about how sand is formed to lots of people.

john kraemer

Yeah, I've thought about mass production but the actual thing sadly doesn't work anywhere near as well as it would have to in order to be sold...

Henry Reich

Probably not enough ..... The one you had was custom made, right? Any thoughts of mass producing them? Like Snatoms or something?

Patrick W. Gilmore

Thank you for all your videos over the years. It was always such a delight to see them. It will be amazing to have a small piece of history in my apartment!

i have fond memories of watching your videos with my younger sister, so I will be getting her one for Christmas. amazing idea to share with the fans

famouscorndog

Yes, I would definitely like that! It would be so neat to look up the video and see exactly where the drawing was used. If the drawing ends up being something that isn't immediately recognizable as belonging to a certain video, a note would save a lot of time searching.

Eliza P

This is something we've been considering... I assume you would like this?

Henry Reich

Ha! What's your best offer?

Henry Reich

Will there be a note about which video the drawing came from?

Eliza P

What do I have to donate to get a Spacetime Globe?

Patrick W. Gilmore

Thanks for your support! There should be a link in your Patreon welcome message

I hope I get one, so looking forward to receiving anything. Followed you since I was maybe 17/18. And I’m now 30!

Samuel Rayworth

Hope I’m not too late for this! I’m from India and to physically have a drawing from one of my heroes I watched when I was getting into physics would be incredible, not too mention being from a country far away. As soon as I saw the video I knew I couldn’t afford to miss this opportunity.

Ashish Asthana

I’m 9 and a fan of science videos. My dad and I love watching your videos, especially the portal and other paradox videos!

Max DeStefano

Im legit praying for a nice little frame from either the portal paradox, or the passing a portal through a portal one. I watched those videos easily like 10 times, I love the portal games and I just love the general concept, specifically of the portal paradox.

Tristan Schubert

I've been watching you since the absolute beginning and excited to support you! I want to thank you for helping satiate my love of physics in such fun and entertaining ways and can't wait to have a piece of physical media as well.

BigBaldWolf

Very exciting! If we are supporting at the level that allows us to choose which video the drawing comes from do we need to message you, or wait to be asked?

Lara Benham

Signed up! Thank you very much for everything you've done over the years. Explaining complicated physics topics in very easy-to-understand ways really helped my astronomy degree :) I'm looking forward to see what I get!

Nathan

Subbing here is far cheaper than the last couple cost me through Project for Awesome … though I do hope you keep/make a few to continue supporting that cause.

Chris Petersen

Wow this is so fun to hear! What type of physics are you studying?

Henry Reich

The walking vs running in the rain video comes up in my head anytime I forget my umbrella out there! I could not support more, but if no one else claims it first, I would like to get that one, thank you so much for all these years!

Andrés G

This is going to be my first bit of YouTube merch I picked unstoppable object meets an unstoppable force well it's my preference I don't know how to use patron as I'm new I hope I sent the right message either way I love the video and they helped me understand the world better

Kya Syk

Can’t wait for the drawing! I’ve used patreon for this exact purpose, getting a little bit of history from my favorite channels, from smarter everyday, a trash pandas baseball, and veritasium a shade ball from his video about what a shade ball does. and now I get to add one of yours!

Kyle christie

i first found the minutephysics channel when i was 11, now i'm 22 finishing up my physics degree and hoping to go to grad school soon and it's entirely because of you, i became a patreon supporter just for this but i intend to stick around because i'd be extremely proud to support the channel that's had such a profound impact on my life
